Clark Nikolai

Clark Nikolai was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, where at age 20 he started making videos as part of the punk underground and parallel art scene. He is an early pioneer of video art in the Canadian prairies, and was a founding member of both the Open Air Audio Visual Co-op (1984) and Video VÈritÈ Artist Centre (1989) of Saskatoon. Since 1981, he has produced over 35 videos, which have screened across Canada, the US, Europe and Japan. His practice has also included still photography, experimental music and sound. He moved to Vancouver in 1997, where he continues developing his art today.

Wayne Yung

Wayne Yung

Wayne Yung was born in Canada in 1971 to a Chinese immigrant family. Since his first video release in 1994, he has travelled extensively to screen his work at film festivals in North America, Europe and Asia. His work examines issues of race and identity from a queer Chinese-Canadian point of view. As a curator, he has guest-programmed at the Out on Screen Queer Film & Video Festival (Vancouver), Sensory Perceptions Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (Portland, Oregon), and Lesbian and Gay Film Festival of Hamburg (Germany). He has lived in Vancouver, Hong Kong and Berlin, and is now based in Hamburg.
