![]() ![]() 23 MAY - 16 JUNE 1998 Curated by Matt Dilling Featuring: Jesse F Reed Zach Feuer Jeff Reed Dave Webber Four Boston based artists in an exploration of light, sculpture, video, and installation. Jesse F Reed fills the corner with an installation of suitcases lit with the images of seven slide projectors. Jeff Reed takes the floor with two three-dimensional forms built of building materials, neon, plexi, and wood-- a seeming synthesis of alien furniture or ornamentation. Dave Webber's various works of sound, light, and photography grace the space with a solemnity and poise-- tiny speakers hang in front of one piece gifting the viewer with cricket-like chimes and forestspeak. Other speakers reverbarate the gallery with thumping strange frequencies. Zach Feuer breaks all conceptions while referencing traditions and history with a snide but formal air; A series of mall life portraits, and videos of minimalist space journeys, broken vending machines, and rotating coffee cups. Gallery Talk given by Guest Curator Matt Dilling on 27 May 1998. ![]() ![]() ![]() (return) |
