Four Weeks: Lisbon-Marrakech-Barcelona. (Click to Enlarge) 16 June - 14 July 2004 Flight via Munich to Lisbon. Art exhibits, studio, museum and gallery visits, beautiful people, fantastic hosts, great cakes and coffee, swimming in the Atlantic, walking the beautiful sunny tiled up and down streets. Side trip to Sintra. Night bus to Algeciras via Sevilla, insane ferry to tangled Tangier. 2 weeks adventure through Morocco on a search for Burroughs and Bowles. Regal Rabat, monkey-town Marrakech, Dades Gorge + a thousand Kasbahs, wild Fes, and chilled-out Chefchouen. Impossible heat, deep in the Medina, out in the canyons, up in the mountains, Arabic Confusion and a lot of fresh mint tea. Ferry back to Algeciras and bus to impressive Madrid. A few days of friendship, tapas, late dinners, gazing on work from S Dali and H Bosch. Cramped overnight to Barcelona, wild metro rides, early morning ocean dip and flight back to Berlin.
