This Vespa was purchased in rural Pennsylvania in August 1998 in decent running order but missing many parts and looking poor. I transported the scooter 350 miles to Boston and then spent over sixty hours and over $250 restoring and repainting this scooter over the last few months. All of the body rust was removed, and it was painted with three coats of primer, three coats of color (polar white / metallic seafoam green), and protected with three coats of clear gloss.

My main hope is to provide a decent looking and decent running scooter to a decent person. I thoroughly enjoyed this project, and look forward to other such restoration (I'm currently restoring a 1979 P200 and am almost finished with a 1955 Allstate. I plan to keep the P and sell the Allstate in the spring.) Money is not my main goal. I am looking to put more scooters on the road, educate people about scooters, and increase my own technical and aesthetic understanding and appreciation of these wonderful and practical machines.

Please contact me if you think this might be the scooter for you. Otherwise, I still welcome discussion. Thank you.

JPM.
Boston, MA.

NOTE:The Vespa has been sold!
Only a few days after advertising, an anxious and serious young man from NY drove up and bought the scooter from me, for a total of $1390. (I decided to keep the manual that I originally intended to sell with the scooter.)

Thanks for your comments and interest.
Please still feel free to write if you feel inclined!
